Movil.dev is a professional development tool that provides a curated library of SwiftUI UI components for Apple developers. The app allows you to browse, preview, edit, and export production-ready code directly to your Xcode projects.

2. Information We Collect

Core App Features: The main functionality of Movil.dev requires no personal information. You can freely browse components, preview code, and export to your projects without providing any data.

AI Assistant Feature: To access the optional Movil AI Assistant, you must sign in with your email address and confirm it via a verification email. We collect only:

  • Your email address
  • The date you signed up

This minimal information is used solely to authenticate your account and enforce fair usage limits (5 AI requests per user).

3. How We Use Your Information

The limited data we collect serves specific purposes:

  • Account Verification: Email confirmation ensures legitimate access to AI features
  • Usage Limits: Signup date helps enforce fair API usage across all users
  • Fraud Prevention: Authentication prevents abuse of our AI services

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the AI Assistant feature.

4. Local Data Storage

Movil.dev stores app data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:

  • Your saved components and favorites
  • App preferences and settings
  • Project configurations
  • AI conversation history (stored locally only)

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You maintain full control over your local data.

5. AI Assistant

The Movil AI Assistant uses Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI) to help you create and modify UI components. When you use this feature:

  • Your prompts and code snippets are sent to AI providers to generate responses
  • We do not store AI conversations on our servers
  • AI responses are cached locally on your device for your convenience

AI data handling is subject to Anthropic's and OpenAI's respective privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies if you plan to use this feature.

6. Network Communications

The app connects to external services for specific features:

  • Component Library: Downloads UI component metadata and previews (no personal data sent)
  • Authentication: Secure login and account verification
  • AI Requests: Sends prompts to AI providers when you explicitly request assistance

All network communications use secure HTTPS connections. Component downloads do not include any identifying information.

7. File System Access

Movil.dev requests file system access only when you choose to export code or connect an Xcode project. The app:

  • Accesses only directories you explicitly select
  • Reads project structure to enable code navigation
  • Writes .swift files when you export components

We do not access, read, or modify any files outside of your selected project directories.

8. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security practices:

  • The app runs in Apple's secure macOS App Sandbox
  • No elevated system permissions are requested
  • Downloaded code and AI-generated content are treated as text only—never executed
  • No background processes or monitoring services run

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is shared only:

  • With AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) when you explicitly use the AI Assistant
  • With our authentication service to verify your account

No cross-app tracking, behavioral analytics, or advertising networks are integrated into Movil.dev.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You have control over your data:

  • Use Without Account: All core features work without authentication
  • Data Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of your account data
  • Local Data: Delete app data anytime through macOS settings

11. Children's Privacy

Movil.dev is designed for professional developers and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. Significant changes will be communicated through app updates. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
